Life Coaches are the center of services at Tavasi. Life Coaches work under the supervision of the director, who has over 15 years of experience working with teens. Tavasi is dedicated to assisting young men build on their past success though mentoring and character development. Life Coaches will meet twice daily in a group format and twice weekly individually to guide, support and direct our clients in their completion of an individual development plan. One individual or family session each week is provided by a mental health therapist.
Residents transitioning from Logan River Academy have the option of continuing to work with their therapist from LRA. We think the combination of learning to work with new life coaches and expectations of a new program, while maintaining the trust and support of the established therapy relationship, combine to create the best balance for transition.
Weekly, residents will plan their meals and schedule who will cook which meals. Supportive life coaches will educate and monitor the development of well balanced and healthy meals. Under the supervision of life coaches students will cook and clean up after each meal. Learning to plan, budget and shop in addition to the actual cooking skills will all contribute to strong self image and independent living.
Daily physical activity is vital to ongoing emotional and physical health. Weekly, residents will create daily activity goals. Some of these will be achieved as a group (canoeing, hiking, swimming, etc) and others will be more individually achieved (calisthenics, yoga, etc).
